ABOUT ME

Born in the Cotswolds, U.K, Jack Hoar started painting from an early age under the watchful eye of his father, the renowned water-colourist John Hoar.

Having come from an artistic background, including his Grandfather, the cartoonist, artist and architect, Frank Hoar, Jack has continued the family tradition.

 

Jack then grew up in Devon where he started exhibiting in local galleries from the age of 16. In 2002, he was awarded the Young Artist prize in the Royal Institute of Painters in Water Colours in London

He, continued to exhibit in the R.I for many years. In 2004 Jack Hoar had his first solo exhibition in Tenterdon, Kent, U.K.  

In the past few years Jack has mainly been focussing on portrait commissions and continues to seek inspiration form the surrounding landscapes of England, Ireland, France and Italy.

Based in Oxfordshire, Jack lives with his wife and two daughters who help inspire him in all his works.
